On Sunday, 8th October 1933 this glider took off from Sutton Bank and headed north, the pilot was unable to complete the return flight to Sutton Bank and made a landing on Hope Hill, Osmotherley but struck a tree while doing so and crashed. The glider was probably Falcon II BGA.163 which was the earliest Falcon Fred Slingsby built.
