Dickson primary glider at Sutton Bank.
On 11th February 1935 members of the Yorkshire Gliding Club met at Sutton Bank to undertake gliding but persistent rain prevented this until 15.45hrs, after this the Dickson glider was brought out and flown sixteen times. On what became the final flight the glider stalled from around twenty five feet above the ground, it struck the ground and some landing wires were stained and broke.
Pilot - Name unknown.
Whether the glider was then repaired is unclear, later in the year it was written off but no date is offered. It may well be that other types of primary glider were available to the club so this older one was not needed?
