On 24th April 2016 this aircraft had been flown from Sleap to Sutton Bank and made a successful landing on the airstrip at 12.40hrs. As the weight of the aircraft settled onto the front nose undercarriage leg it collapsed and the propeller was damaged when it struck the ground. The AAIB accident investigation later stated that a problem with the way the undercarriage lowering system was set up or the way it was set had changed as a result of heavy landings was to blame and it may have resulted the front leg appearing to have been in a locked down position prior to the landing but it had infact not been locked in place. The aircraft was (and still is) a self-built aircraft by the owners Messers J W Clarke and J Buglass.
