Aeromot AMT-200 Super Ximango G-JTPC at Sutton Bank.

On 10th September 1997 this aircraft was being flown to another site away from its usual field for refuelling. This other site is assumed to have been Sutton Bank. While on his downwind leg of the landing there the pilot was distracted from his pre-landing checks by a radio transmission. During the approach he did not use the airbrakes, the warning buzzer did not sound to warn him and he landed at 14.45hrs with the wheel up, breaking the propeller.

Pilot - Name unknown.

This aircraft is a type of self-built motor glider. It was built by Aeromot Industria Mechanico Metalurgica Ltda, Brazil in 1996 and was first registered to John Terrence Potter & Peter Greatorex Cowling, Trustees of G-JTPC Falcon 3 Group. It was still registered to them (when I last updated this webpage in 2025). The aircraft may also have been damaged on 10th July 1997 at an unknown location.
