Grumman American AA-5A Cheetah G-BGCM at Dalby Forest.

On 25th October 2022 this aeroplane was being flown near to the pilot's home at South Moor Farm, Langdale End, where he had an airstrip, when two carbon monoxide detectors in the cockpit indicated the presence of carbon dioxide. The pilot attempted to make a precautionary landing on the airstrip but could not stop in the distance available. Beyond the end of the airstrip was a line of trees. He turned the aircraft toward the end of the airstrip but then ran through two wire fences before it struck the standing remains of an old stone wall alongside a public footpath. The aircraft was damaged and the pilot received minor injuries. Local fire services attended and assisted in getting the aircraft back onto the pilot's property where it was left for several days.

Pilot - Mr Bob Walker.
