On 18th April 1997 this glider was winch launched from Sutton Bank for the pilot's second solo flight. While landing the pilot overcorrected a minor issue but the glider then hit the ground nose-wheel first. At this point the pilot's head struck the canopy cracking it with a metal stud on his cap. This was the third mishap to this glider at Sutton Bank.
