Slingsby T.6 Kirby Kite I BGA.310 damaged in the air, landed at Sutton Bank.

During Spring/Summer 1986 (possibly in June 1986) a gliding meeting was held at Sutton Bank. During the meeting the vintage Slingsby Kite BGA.310 was being flown in the general area around Sutton Bank when a modern Twin Astir glider was being flown much faster from behind when they collided. Four feet of the Kite's wing tip was removed in the collision but the pilot was able to land normally at the gliding site. This glider was noted in Vintage Glider Club newsletter as being flown by this pilot at a meeting at Blackpool on 25th May 1986 and was then repaired by him before the Lasham rally began on 2nd August 1986. It must have occurred between the two dates.

Pilot - Mr Michael Maufe.
