Hutter H-17 BGA.2847 at Sutton Bank.
Between 25th August and 1st September 1984 the Vintage Glider Club organised a British National gliding meeting named the "Rodi Morgan Commemorative Rally". Over the first few days a considerable amount of flying took place before the weather changed later in the week. On Tuesday, 28th August 1984 this glider was damaged when it groundlooped on landing at Sutton Bank.
Vintage Glider Club magazine stated that the glider was built in Holland between 1954 and 1958 by Messers Sanders, Molinaar and Booy, of KLM and was registered as PH-269. It was not allowed to fly in the Netherlands so a Dutchman took it to Kenya in 1972. At some stage it was aquired by Bim Molineux and was restored in Kenya before being brought to the UK. In 1984 it was cared for and repaired by Mr Brian Gillmore, but ownership was retained by Mr Bim Molineux. It took some time to repair after the mishap in 1984 and was noted as airworthy in late-1986.
