Eiri-Avion PIK-20D BGA.2513 near Sutton Bank.

On 16th September 1990 the pilot was distracted while rigging the glider and forgot to couple the elevator. After apparently checking the glider prior to flight it was given an aerotow launch. Finding that he could not stop the glider rising above the tug aircraft the glider pilot released the tow-cable and flew off the ridge. At 13.30hrs he managed to land in a field by using the flaps to control the pitch. In the British Soaring Yearbook 1986-87 this glider is listed as being registered to J.Gresham, of Ringmer, whether this was the owner four years later is not known.
