On Saturday, 25th May 1991 this glider launched at the Sutton Bank gliding site at 19.00hrs on what was the pilot's first solo flight on the glider type. After what appeared to be a normal launch the cable came away at about 500 feet, the glider was seen to pitch nose down until it went over the vertical and then crashed near Sutton Bank. Sadly the pilot was killed in the crash.
