Albert Robson was born on 8th March 1924 to Albert Russel and Elizabeth Robson of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was known to his family by his second name of Russel. He attended the R.H.McGregor Public School in Toronto prior to enlisting into the RCAF. He was one of a reasonably rare band of Canadian Flight Engineers in Bomber Command. I would like to thank Ms Kathleen Robson for contacting me initially in 2010 and subsequently in March 2012 after the photographs shown on this webpage had come to light.
Sgt Albert Robson died as a result of the accident to Halifax LK878, he was twenty years old and was buried Harrogate Stonefall Cemetery, Yorkshire on 20th January 1945.
A commemorative scroll presented to his family by his local town council.
Thankfully the complete set of names are known.

This photograph was one I have been sent by Sgt Robson's family and depicts a group of trainee airmen. The training unit they were attending is not yet known however the rear of the photograph is signed "Butcher & Runnalls, Regina, Saskatchewan". None of the young men have any trade wings on their breasts and most have no rank which could suggest it was taken during their basic training. I would welcome further details to suggest which training unit these men were attending at the time of the photograph.
