Angus MacDonell was born in 1925 (15th January 1925 is stated on correspondance between F/O McGregor's mother and the RCAF, and this would mean it was his birthday when he died). He was one of a number of children born to Angus and Mary Ann MacDonell who lived on a large farm in Green Valley, Ontario, Canada. One of his brothers, Wallace MacDonell, served in the RCAF as a member of ground crew. Angus MacDonell was the Mid Upper Gunner in Frank Mooney's crew and on Halifax LK878 when it crashed near Felixkirk.
Sgt MacDonell was twenty years old and was buried at Harrogate Stonefall Cemetery with his crew on 20th January 1945.
My thanks to his relation Jed Barker for contacting me in September 2013 and for clarifying and correction a previous version of his webpage.
