Flight Engineer Geoffrey Hutt was the son of Albert and Beatrice Eleanor (nee Hickman) Hutt and was born at Loughborough, Leicestershire in the last quarter of 1922. When the 1939 Register was compiled he was probably living with his parents but his name is currently redacted. The family home on was Clifford Road, Loughborough. He had three younger sisters. When he enlisted for RAF service is not yet known. By August 1942 he was undertaking training, possibly in Scotland and the photograph below shows him and other trainees probably on completion of a course. His training prior to arriving at No.1659 Heavy Conversion Unit at Topcliffe is not known. He received a commission on 10th March 1944 to the rank of P/O on probation (emergency) from the rank of F/Sgt (1581770). He was twenty one years old when he lost his life in the accident at Kepwick Bank in March 1944.
