Michael Marynowski was born on 29th September 1915 in Krydor, Saskatchewan, Canada and was the son of Joseph and Irene (Zamellinski) Marynowski who farmed near Krydor before moving to Paynton, Saskatchewan. Michael was educated at both communities and farmed for several years after finishing his schooling but was working at a sawmill at Foleyet, Ontario when he enlisted in Ottawa on 29th June 1938 serving as ground crew. In May 1942 he remustered as aircrew and trained as a Bomb Aimer in the RCAF. After completing his training he was posted to 408 Squadron in September 1943. He was sadly killed in the accident to Lancaster DS737 on the North Yorkshire Moors on 16th December 1943, he was twenty nine years old.
Michael Marynowski was buried at Harrogate Stonefall Cemetery, Yorkshire.
As part of the Saskatchewan province's rememberance of their war-dead all service personal who died in the Second World War from Saskatchewan had some form of natural feature named in their honour, as a result of this the Marynowski Lake in Saskatchewan, Canada was named in Michael Marynowski's honour.
