Mr Osborne Roy Keith Jnr.

Osborne Roy Keith Jnr was born on 2nd February 1921 at Twin Falls, Idaho to Osborne Roy (Snr) and Blanche Keith (nee Watson), he was one of three brothers with the others being Bruce and Watson Keith and was living in the Long Beach area of Los Angeles, California, USA in 1942. Their father Osborne Snr was born in Paris but spent his early years in Chicago and attended Harvard School, after travelling Europe he returned to the USA and graduated from Princeton University. He had moved to Idaho in 1904 and married Blanche (born in Iowa) in 1905 at Wendell, Idaho and operated a large cattle ranch near Hailey, Idaho until 1923 when ill-health resulted in him ceasing this line of business, he then moved with his family to Long Beach, California. Osborne Keith Snr died in Glendale, California in December 1937.

Being only twenty one when he died in the crash near Coniston Osborne Keith Jnr must have trained to be a pilot pretty much straight out of school but no further information is yet known about him. Why he elected to be a Lockheed pilot rather than a USAAF pilot when he was around the right age to join the USAAF is not known. He presumably lived fairly locally to Lockheed's factory at Burnbank, undertook training and then got a piloting job with them. He presumably took up an offer as a job to become an employee of the Lockheed Overseas Corporation. Where his ashes are buried in the Los Angeles area of California, USA is not known. I would welcome contact from his family and am interested in being able to display a photograph of him.
