Unidentified Meteor at Driffield airfield.

On 30th July 1954 a Meteor belonging to No.8 Flying Training School had been serviced at Driffield airfield and when it was being towed back around the airfield on the perimeter track it had a member of ground crew sat in the front cockpit. When the towing tractor and the aircraft were still moving the member of groundcrew attempted to leave the aircraft and stepped out of the cockpit onto the port wing. Unfortunately he then slipped off the wing and fell onto the perimeter track. The port undercarriage then ran over him and killed him.
