On 21st January 1952 this 205 Advanced Flying School aircraft was flown on a basic circuits and landings training exercise at Middleton St.George airfield for what was the pilot's first solo flight in a Meteor. He took off, flew his first and second circuits and landed each time normally. He then took off for the third circuit but appeared to leave the airbrakes extended. When he then made a tight turn and stalled. The aircraft spun into the ground at Over Dinsdale, on the North Riding side of the River Tees, opposite the airfield. The pilot was killed and the aircraft was destroyed.
