During the morning of Tuesday, 29th April 1952 the pilot of this 206 Advanced Flying School aircraft was briefed to undertake a long range flying training exercise to be carried out at an altitude of 20,000 feet. The aircraft took off from Oakington airfield at 10.59hrs and flew north. At 11.40hrs it was seen to be flying low in the Swanland area of Hull and flying aerobatics. During a roll the pilot lost control and the aircraft dived into the ground near Humberdale Farm. The pilot was killed instantly and the aircraft was destoyed. It was later stated that the pilot had personal connections to the area of Swanland and he was undertaking unauthorised aerobatics at the time.
