Spitfire at Topcliffe airfield.
On the 24th of January 1942 this aircraft was landing at Topcliffe airfield when it struck a bank of snow formed when the runway was cleared.
Pilot - Name unknown. Uninjured?
This aircraft is suggested elsewhere on the internet as being Spitfire AA813 which I believe is an error. The aircraft was being flown back from Gibraltar on this date
and the pilot, F/O M C B Anderson, force landed in Dorset after the engine cut out at 28,000ft.
