Whitley near Topcliffe.

At 23.25hrs on the 13th of April 1942 a Whitley force-landed near Leckby Palace Farm, between Asenby and Cundall and near the River Swale badly damaging the undercarriage of the aircraft. The crew escaped injury. The identity of the aircraft is not yet known and the only record found to date appears in police records.
