Avro 504k E3560 in the Doncaster area.
During the morning of 18th September 1918 this No.47 Training Depot Station aeroplane was being flown in the general area of Doncaster aerodrome, where it was based, when the pilot lost control and it dived into the ground at 09.00hrs. The pilot was killed in the accident.
Pilot - Flt Cadet Albert Daniel Morgan RAF (9680), aged 28. Buried Cardiff (Cathays) Cemetery, Glamorganshire.
Albert Morgan was born on 9th August 1889 in Aberdare, Wales. He appears to have initially served as a mechanic in the Royal Flying Corps from 1915 before transferring to pilot training around the end of 1917 becoming a Flight Cadet. He then transferred to the RAF when it formed on 1st April 1918. He was posted to No.47 TDS on 13th July 1918. The CWGC list his unit as being No.2 School of Military Aeronautics.
