Maurice Farman S.11 Shorthorn A6836 near Bramham Moor aerodrome.
On 13th February 1918 this No.14 Training Squadron, Royal Flying Corps aeroplane was being in the Tadcaster area when stalled, spun and dived into the ground. A court of inquiry was held but did not conclude that anything other than pilot error was responsible for the accident occurring. The location of where the accident occurred is unknown, the pilot's death was registered in the Wetherby district and most of the aerodrome at Bramham Moor, where No.14 Training Squadron was based, fell within this district. It probably stalled while flying in the vacinity of the aerodrome.
Pilot - 2Lt James Ashwell Howe RFC, 18. Buried Buxton Cemetery, Derbyshire.
