Unidentified aeroplane at Halifax.
On 19th July 1918 an aeroplane made a landing on the Savile Park recreation ground fields at Halifax. As was customary for such events at the time, a large crowd gathered around the aeroplane and later in the day when attempting to take off, a small boy got too close to the moving aeroplane and was struck on the head. The pilot managed to get the aeroplane into the air though then returned and landed sustaining further damage. The boy was taken to the nearby Royal Halifax Infirmary where he died the next day.
