Airco DH.1 A1612 at Bramham Moor.

On Saturday, 24th March 1917 this No.46 Reserve Squadron, Royal Flying Corps aeroplane stalled on a flight over Bramham Moor aerodrome at around twenty feet above the ground and dived into the ground killing the pilot. Where the pilot was initially buried is unknown.

Pilot - 2Lt Jean Auguste Andre Mouritan Bouic RFC, aged 23. Buried Port Louis Western Cemetery, Mauritius.


Andre Bouic was the son of Alexandre Jules Bouic and his wife(?) Marie Emilie Clothilde Lellaire. He had been a medical student at Guy's Hospital, London. How and when his body was transported to Mauritius is unknown.
