F.E.2d A1949 at Tadcaster.
On 27th November 1916 the pilot of this No.57 Squadron aeroplane took off from Copmanthorpe aerodrome without it being refuelled. The fuel later ran out and it suffered engine failure in the air over Tadcaster and crashed killing the pilot.

Very little is known about Edward Hall. He appears to have held no Royal Aero Club Aviators' Certificate. His gravestone has either sunk or the soil level has built up in front of the lower part of the engraved stone.
