On the 29th September 1986 this aircraft struck trees trying to avoid a bird strike during a practice force-landing near Knayton. The aircraft crashed into a small field and injured the two airmen on board when the aircraft was substantially damaged. Both occupants suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton. Their names remain unknown to this researcher.
