On the 29th of September 1986 this aircraft struck trees trying to avoid a bird strike during a practice force-landing. The aircraft crashed into a small field near Knayton and injured the two airmen on board. The aircraft was substantially damaged. Both occupants suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.
