Meteor near Filey.

On 8th November 1949 the pilot of this Meteor is believed to have been on a training flight from Driffield airfield over the Scarborough area when the aircraft clipped a 60,000 volt powerline in the Filey area wiping out power to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. The aircraft did not crash and it is thought to have returned to Driffield airfield and made a good landing. No further details at present, the first I heard of this was from newspaper archives at Scarborough Library searching for other aircraft incidents.
