Wellington (HE914?) at East Moor airfield.

On 11th May 1943 a Wellington sustained damage in a non-operational landing accident at East Moor, details about the incident are vague but it appears to have crashed on overshoot 500 yards off the end of the SW-NE runway at East Moor at 11.30hrs. Police reports state it suffered damage to propellers and the front end, and as a result probably damage to the engines was also sustained. Whilst there is no note to the damage sustained this was almost certainly Cat.B/FA. Wellington HE914 does not appear on 429 Squadron records again after this date and is therefore the main contender for its identity.
