Various aircraft and gliders at Slingsby's, Kirkbymoorside. Damaged by fire.

A fire at Slingsby's factory resulted in the loss of a number of aircraft and gliders, although not "lost through crash" I have included them on this list. Press reports state that forty four aircraft were lost but I assume not all were complete fully built aircraft and hence would not have proper registrations.

This glider was one of the machines destroyed in the fire.

More information will be added and seperate webpages created for these individual aircraft as it is discovered. My father in law was working for Slingsby's at the time of the incident.
