Unidentified aircraft near Scarborough.

This aircraft crashed on take-off on the airfield on the racecourse at Scarborough on Monday night on 24th July 1931. The Brough-based aircraft was badly damaged but the pilot survived and was uninjured. The aircraft was dismantled and returned to Brough for repair. The press report for the incident states that it had nothing to do with the Scarborough Flying Club and given the Brough connection I assume it was linked there. Two companies operated out of Brough in 1931, the Blackburn Aircraft Co Ltd and a subsidiary company, North Sea Aerial & General Transport Co Ltd. It seems likely it was one of either these companies aircraft, nothing further is known.

Crew - Names unknown. Uninjured.
