Oxford at Clifton Airfield.

Also on the 3rd of May 1942 an Oxford from 15 (P)AFU, 21 Grp Fighter Command's Training unit crashed onto Clifton Airfield. Damage was slight (Cat A(c)). There were no casualties.

The aircraft was built to contract B67831/40 by Percival Aircraft Ltd at Luton and delivered to RAFC Cranwell on 12th October 1941. It was transferred to 15 (P)AFU at Leconfield on 2nd April 1942 and suffered this minor mishap there on 3rd May 1942. It was repaired on site and returned to 15 (P)AFU only to suffer a Cat.E2/FA on 21st July 1942 when the aircraft overshot a night landing at Kirmington when the pilot lost control of the aircraft.
