DH-6 C6871 near Whitby.

On 11th September 1918 high winds were present over the North-East coast, the pilot force-landed this aircraft near Whitby damaging the undercarriage when the winds became overpowering. The pilot was unhurt, but the aircraft was written off.


DH6 C6871 was built by Savages Ltd for the RFC. No service record prior to it arriving at 510 Flight, 252 Squadron at Redcar on 29th August 1918 exists.
