Unidentified nacelled Slingsby T.3 Primary "Dagling" glider at Sutton Bank.
On Tuesday, 13th September 1938 the pilot of this glider was undertaking his first glider flight since being awarded a type C Certificate some weeks previously. While flying over the gliding site at around 400 feet on this date he lost control after the glider entered a spin. Control was not regained and it crashed either on or close to the gliding site at Sutton Bank. The glider was badly damaged and considered to be a write-off. The pilot sustained back injuries for which he had to wear a back plaster jacket for some weeks.
