Hudson at Thornaby Airfield.

On the 23rd of June 1943 this aircraft came in too fast for a landing, it overshot the airfield and was wrecked. Damage sustained was Cat E2/FA.

The aircraft was built by Lockheed-Vega at Burbank, California and purchased without contract by the B.P.C. It was delivered to the UK by sea, arriving in July 1940. After assembly and acceptance at MU it was issued to 206 Sqdn at Bircham Newton in late 1940. It later moved to 6 (c)OTU at Thornaby on an as yet unknown date and believed to have passed into the hands of 1 (c)OTU when 6 (c) OTU left Thornaby in March 1943.
