Fury K8219, possibly damaged in Yorkshire.

On 8th February 1937 the pilot of this aircraft was forced to make a landing due to bad weather while on a training flight. The aircraft ran into a ditch and sustained some damage. It is thought to have been repaired on site and flown back to Thornaby. The location of this incident must therefore have been in range of Thornaby and the assumption is made that it was in either Yorkshire of Durham.

Pilot - Name unknown.

Fury K8219 had already been damaged in a previous accident at Thornaby some months prior. It was built to contract 419059/35 by General Aircraft Ltd at Hanworth and delivered to 9 FTS on 24th July 1936. It suffered the Cat.R/FA accident at Thornaby on 6th November 1936. Following repair from that and this incident above it was again damaged again in flying accident but this time more seriously on 12th June 1937, the wreckage was taken to Aldergrove for assessment before being struck of charge on 13th July 1937.
