On 2nd August 1936 this aircraft was reported to have made a force landing in a cornfield somewhere in Yorkshire but the location of which remains unknown to this researcher. The aircraft collided with a haystack, struck the ground and overturned but only minor Cat.M/FA damage was recorded. The aircraft was probably returned to Thornaby where it was repaired and returned to service with 608 Squadron for a further four years. The aircraft suggered a further Cat.M/FA accident on 26th June 1940 and was again repaired and returned to service. It was then flown to Odiham on 27th September 1940, dismantled and packed for shipping to the South African Air Force for the use of 2 FTS on 12th October 1940. It was finally struck off RAF charge on 30th November 1944. The aircraft had been initially built to contract 410420/35 by Vickers Ltd at Weybridge and delivered to 608 Squadron on 9th June 1936.
