On 30th April 1937 this aircraft's engine cut out in flight and the pilot attempted to make a forced landing but collided with
a hedge and the aircraft overturned. The location of incident is not known but it is presumed to be in range of Thornaby and it must have been
in either Yorkshire or Durham and is included until the location can be confirmed. The aircraft was later repaired.

Hart K5884 was built to contract 410420/35 by Vickers Ltd at Weybridge and allotted to DTD at Hawkers for TI modifications on 11th May 1936. It was delivered to 9 FTS Thornaby on 21st May 1936. It sustained Cat.R/FA damage in the incident above and following repair it was later transferred to 3 ASU (for storage) on 10th May 1938 and then issued to 29 E&RFTS at Luton on 28th July 1938, It passed to 2 FTS at Brize Norton on 3rd September 1939, RAFC Cranwell on 18th September 1939. Here it suffered a bad accident, Cat.W/FA, on 7th November 1939 and
was struck off charge on 8th December 1939.
