On 2nd January 1937 this aircraft collided with a tree when the pilot was attempting to carry out a forced landing during a navigation exercise. The location of this accident is not known though it must have been within fuel range of Thornaby so have been in either Yorkshire or Durham and is included on this website until the crash location is learnt. The aircraft was badly damaged and was not repaired. On this date a number of other aircraft were damaged in forced landings in Yorkshire because of a blanket of fog that decended and caught out a number of pilots already in the air.
