Hart K5841 possibly damaged somewhere in North Yorkshire.

On 18th May 1937 this aircraft suffered engine failure, the pilot made a forced landing but hit the ground hard. As the aircraft was based at Thornaby the assumption is made that it occured in either Yorkshire or Durham but the aircraft may have been on a transit flight to 2 FTS as it was reported transferred to them on this date. I include the incident on the website until it can be ruled out.

Pilot - Name unknown.

Hart K5841 was built to contract 410420/35 by Vickers Ltd at Weybridge and delivered to 2 FTS on 3rd April 1936 and was transferred to 9 FTS on 14th October 1936. It suffered Cat.R/FA damage in the incident given above but was either written off in August 1937 (not being repaired from this accident) or later in February 1938 after a further crash, but the records are sketchy.
