On the 18th of May 1937 this aircraft suffered engine failure, and the pilot made a forced landing but hit the ground hard. This may well have been on a transit flight to 2 FTS as it was reported transferred to them on this date. Cat R/FA damage was sustained and being eventually struck off charge on 12th Augist 1937. Confusion still exists with regard this loss, another source quotes it as crashing when the fuel turned off accidently causing aircraft to stall when making a forced landing on the 1st January 1938 and it being struck off charge on 15th February 1938.

The aircraft was built to contract 410420/35 by Vickers Ltd at Weybridge and delivered to 2 FTS on the 3rd of April 1936. It was transferred to 9 FTS on the 14th October 1936.
