On 19th December 1918 the pilot of this aircraft was one of a few in the air practicing formation flying when this aircraft had to
make a forced landing, during which it suffered minor undercarriage damage. This damage was repaired the same day and after taking off
the pilot made a turn at 400 feet above the ground, the aircraft entered a spun and struck the ground and was destroyed, the pilot was
sadly killed. He is thought to have been the same airman on both incidents.
Pilot - Lt Arthur C Douct RAF, aged 20, of ? Buried Marske-in-Cleveland Churchyard.
Arthur Douct was the son of A E Doucet and his wife Elizabeth Barrett, of Quebec, Canada.
He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
