On 27th February 1918 this aircraft crashed at Redcar and the pilot was sadly killed. No further details are known.
Pilot - Probationary F/O Edward Phillips McIndoe RNAS, aged 18, of Sunderland. Buried Bishopwearmouth Cemetery, Sunderland.
Avro 504 N3285 was built by Humber Motor Cars Ltd for the RFC but transferred to the RNAS and delivered to Redcar
for assembly on 29th December 1917. It was probably destroyed in the accident detailed above and was deleted from
stock on 30th March 1918.
