Caudron GIII 8950 was built by British Caudron at Hendon and delivered to AAP Hendon on 10th July 1916 where it was tested and accepted on 13th July 1916. Days later on 18th July 1916 it was transferred up to RNAS Redcar but on the delivery flight it suffered damage in a landing accident at Shipton near York (detailed on this website). Following repair it arrived at Redcar on 8th August 1916 and began service with Redcar's Flying School. It suffered serious damage as a result of the incident detailed above and when assessed it was deemed as beyond economic repair and was deleted from stock on 16th October 1916.
