On 21st August 1917 this aircraft is reported to have crashed at Redcar but nothing more is known about the incident.
Pilot - Name unknown.
Longhorn 8939 was built by Brush E.E. Co. Ltd. at Loughborough and delivered to CSD White City in October 1916 from where it was
dispatched to RNAS Cranwell for assembly, testing and acceptance on 9th November 1916. The aircraft appears to have been
dismantled prior to it's transfer on 2nd July 1917 to RNAS Redcar because it travelled there by rail, arriving the next day,
3rd July 1917 to join the Flying School. It was not repaired prior to the assessors visit to Redcar in December 1917 and
following surveying on 7th December 1917 it was described as "wrecked" and was deleted for use as spares on 14th December 1917.
