Avro 504 8594 was built by A V Rowe of Manchester and delivered to RNAS Whitley Bay by lorry on 29th December 1915 for
coastal defence duties. It was tested there on 2nd January 1916 and rejected. This was later corrected and transferred
to RNAS Redcar on 4th March 1916. Following the mishap at Redcar in March 1916 it was considered for repair but this
took some time, it was returned to Redcar to serve with the flying school in November 1916. It remained there until
being deleted from stock on 30th March 1918.
