At 14.45hrs on the 10th September 1997, this aircraft was being flown to another site away from its usual field for refueling. This other site is assumed to be Sutton Bank. While on his downwind leg of the landing the pilot was distracted from his pre-landing checks by a radio transmission. During the approach he did not use the airbrakes, the warning buzzer did not sound to warn him and he landed with the wheel up, breaking the propeller.
This aircraft is a type of self-built motor glider. It was built by Aeromot Industria Mechanico Metalurgica Ltda, Brazil in 1996. It was first registered to John Terrence Potter & Peter Greatorex Cowling, Trustees of G-JTPC Falcon 3 Group.
