Schleicher Ka-6E BGA1640 glider near Sutton Bank.

On 27th July 1992 this glider crashed in a field below Sutton Bank after taking off. On the take off run the tow aircraft flew much higher than the glider and fearing he could not climb and that the tug which be dragged down he released the cable and force landed in a field below the airstrip.

This glider was given it's certificate of airworthiness in April 1971 and was previously registered as AGA.2.
