Slingsby Dart BGA1166 glider at Sutton Bank Gliding Club.

On 30th August 2006 this glider was landing at Sutton Bank when it dropped below the level of the runway, the glider flew into trees just below the landing strip and was severely damaged, the pilot sustained serious injuries and sadly died some days later.

Pilot - Mr Barry Thompson, aged 54, of Langdale, Beds. Killed.

This glider was given it's certificate of airworthiness in May 1964 and was used by the RAF in its early life.
